Day 1
Board the train in Singapore and and enjoy afternoon tea as you travel across the causeway into Malaysian countryside. Enjoy the passing vistas of lush green fields from the Observation Car’s open deck. Your evening on board the Eastern & Oriental Express will be one of fine dining, glamorous cocktails and local entertainment in the opulent Piano Bar.
Day 2
Disembark in Kuala Kangsar, the old royal town of Perak, for a short coach trip to a nearby village. Mingle with residents who welcome you with a traditional dance. Sample the local cuisine and browse handicrafts. Later, enjoy a guided walk through the rice paddies. Alternatively, the experts can lead you on an hill trek through local banana and durian plantations. From the summit, guests can enjoy panoramas across the surrounding area. Using the provided binoculars, you may even be able to glimpse the train waiting at the nearby Padang Rengas Station. Rejoin the train for lunch and continue your journey towards the Thai border. Why not treat yourself to a relaxing foot massage? It’s the perfect way to unwind adter the morning’s sightseeing. Afternoon tea is served in your cabin. Head to the Restaurant Car for your final dinner onboard.
Day 3
After Breakfast, alight in Kanchanaburi and choose from three excursions: take a raft along the River Kwai, a bicycle tour of the rice fields or shrpen your culinary prowess with a visit to vibrant local markets and a cookery class. Enjoy lunch on board. Bid farewell as the train arrives at Hua Lamphong station. Memories made on this journey will last a lifetime.
