From Singapore to the sunkissed tranquility of Bali, and beyond
To say that the new Mr and Mrs Gallagher enjoyed a multi-moon of a lifetime would be an understatement.
With the help of ‘Carefree Travel’, local honeymooners Jonathan and Bronagh embarked upon a multi-moon of dreams to three fantastic locations – bustling Singapore, the sun-kissed tranquillity of Bali and the ultra-luxurious city of Dubai.
The couple’s coveted adventure began in Singapore – a visually striking, fast-paced hub of activity, and one of the world’s most multi-cultural cities.
Describing it as their ‘wild card’ honeymoon destination, Jonathan and Bronagh enjoyed a two night’s stay at the luxurious Shangri-La Singapore, set amidst 15 acres of exotic gardens. And what’s more, the duo said it was ‘the nicest hotel they experienced in any city’.
Making the most of their time in Singapore by taking in the city’s famous sights on an open air bus tour, they also embarked on the unique ‘Duck and Hippo tour’, aptly named as it explores the city by water, via a refurbished World War Two amphibious vehicle from Vietnam.
However for the pair, one of their sight-seeing highlights was the awe-inspiring ‘Gardens by the Bay’, a nature park spanning an unbelievable 101 hectares of reclaimed land in central Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir.
“It was a huge, colourful, futuristic park,” Bronagh described. “The famous Supertree structures offer an impressive skywalk over the gardens, while over-sized seashell-shaped greenhouses recreate chilly mountain climates. There are also hundreds of trees and plants to discover.”
Aside from the stunning architecture, the couple were also given a taste of the unique Asian food and drink experiences.
Not only did they treat themselves to lunch in China City, they enjoyed a poolside dinner at the Mandarin Oriental – a five-star luxury hotel which overlooks Singapore’s most iconic landmarks, such as the Benjamin Sheares Bridge.
Further delights included drinking celebratory cocktails in the iconic rooftop bar, the Marina Bay Sands and they even experienced the ‘Raffles’ bar – the home of famous national drink, the ‘Singapore Sling’.
Dreamy Bali
Following the buzz of Singapore, it was then time for Bronagh and Jonathan to retreat and enjoy some luxury rest and recuperation in the lush volcanic island of Bali – a place adorned with pristine beaches, rivers, emerald rice paddies and exquisite architecture.
The pair began the Bali leg of their honeymoon on the island’s quiet north-east coast, with a stay in the Spa Village Resort, located in the traditional Balinese village of Tembok.
“It was the most romantic and personalised experience,” Bronagh said. “We spent our time there relaxing by the pool and enjoying authentic Bali spa treatments.”
A highlight of the resort’s programme of daily unique experiences was star-gazing on a waterbed in the pool… Bliss for the couple!
Their next stop was the town of Ubud, in the uplands of Bali, which is famous for its traditional crafts and dance.
Staying at the luxurious Alia Ubud, Jonathan and Bronagh particularly enjoyed the views of the tropical forest and rice fields from the elevated infinity pool, while spotting the monkeys running wild each day.
Capturing the heart of Bali, they explored the nearby temples, shrines and rice paddies which offered them amazing photo opportunities.
They completed their ten-day Bali experience in Southern Bali, where they stayed in the popular Nusa Dusa area, at the gorgeous The Laguna which overlooks the majestic Indian Ocean.
The resort features a wide selection of pools and spa experiences, and in the evening they enjoyed a stroll by one of the finest beaches in Bali and indulged in a different dining or bar experience from the nearby hotels.
“We truly loved our time in Bali, and found the people to be very humble and welcoming,” Bronagh said.
Dubai Departure
The extravagant finale to their multi-moon was a two night’s stay in Dubai, staying at the stylish Taj Dubai, which overlooks the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.
Describing the city as ‘vibrant and full of things to see and do’, Jonathan and Bronagh packed lots into their 48-hour stop-over.
However their highlight was ‘The Yellow Boat’, which offered a guided speed boat tour around the city and ‘The Fountain Show’ at the revered Dubai Mall.
Ending their honeymoon journey in style, Jonathan and Bronagh enjoyed a complimentary upgrade on their return flight home with Emirates.
The new Mr and Mrs Gallagher said they would highly recommend a multi-moon, and described it as ‘the only way to honeymoon!’
“You get the best of both worlds,” said Bronagh. “A multi-moon gives you the chance to create the holiday of a lifetime, and one that is perfect for anyone wanting a unique adventure mixed with both relaxation and exploration.”
After researching several destinations, Jonathan and Bronagh Gallagher chose to book their Honeymoon with ‘Carefree Travel’, based on the company’s exceptional service, expertise and attention to detail, and their ability to create a custom itinerary just for them.
Jonathan and Bronagh were extremely complimentary about Mandy, their ‘fantastic’ honeymoon expert at Carefree Travel. They highly recommend Carefree Travel to other couples, and the newlyweds are looking forward to planning their future holidays with Carefree Travel.
